Students Nurses Association (SNA)
The Student Nurses Association (SNA) in the Government College of Nursing, Thiruvananthapuram plays a pivotal role in nurturing the professional and personal growth of nursing students. History Students Nurses Association of India
Student Nurses Association (SNA) organised in 1929 at the annual conference of TNAI and is associated under the jurisdiction of the TNAI. It is a Nation wide organization for nursing students. Student Nurses Association provides a means for the personnel and professional development of nursing students. It serves as a source of membership for the parent organization. In addition, the TNAI serves as the advisor for SNAI.
Aims & Objectives
The aim of the SNA is to provide programs representative of fundamental and current professional interest concerns to nursing students. Membership in SNA aids in the development of the whole person, including the professional role.
- To help the nursing students to uphold the dignity and ideals of the profession
- To encourage leadership ability of the student nurses
- To help for the overall development of the student
- To help in participating in educational and other co curricular activities
- To improve the students social contact and knowledge
- To help the student nurses to learn how the professional organization serves.
- To promote team spirit among student nurses
At the unit level, the unit executive committee members are SNA Advisor, President, and Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer and conveners of committee. At the State level, the committee members are State TNAI President as the ex-officio member, SNA Advisor, student Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, Program Chairperson and representatives of unit zones.

1/7/24 : Sanskriti ethnic day celebration was conducted for the first time in the history of GCNT.It was inaugurated by Mrs. Reena A Thankaraj, VicePrincipal GCNT.All batches participated according to various themes and 4th year Bsc (49th Batch) was selected as the best Ethnic Batch.Individual championship was won by Ms.Renjana RR (50th Bsc).
