Committees and Associations

Standing Committees

The standing committees are constituted for the proper functioning of the Academic and co-curricular activities. The various standing committees functioning in the college are as follows:
  • Curriculum Committee

    The Committee undertakes the overall planning of all the activities of students of each year, which include theory classes, clinical postings, observation visits, sessional exams and co- curricular activities. The Committee consists of Principal, Faculty and PTA executive members.

  • College Management Committee

    This Committee aims at quality maintainance. It also coordinates and supervises both academic and non-academic programmes. Develops an action plan for the academic year and forwards suggestion and recommendations in important areas related to need -based academic programmes and improvement of infrastructure facilities. It gathers proposals from various departments and monitors the implementation of the proposals.

  • Library Committee

    The Library Committee aims at promoting equitable access to all information resources. The Committee has the responsibility of recommending, selecting and purchasing books and journals for the library. The Committee consists of Librarian, Faculty and student representatives.

  • Social Committee

    The Social Committee establishes cordial relations with the media and other agencies and thereby ensures the goodwill and support of the community. It organizes educational and cultural programmes in collaboration with various departments and organizations both inside and outside campus.

  • Anti-Ragging Committee

    Ragging is prohibited within the campus and an Anti-Ragging committee is constituted with Principal as the Chairperson, professors and all class teachers are the members of the committee. College Union Chairman and student representatives are also members of the Committe. On admission, a signed declaration is obtained from all students regarding anti- ragging. Anti- ragging classes are given to all students by KELSA panel and officers of police departments. Signed anti – ragging declaration is also obtained from all students each year. Anti- Ragging squad is present in both college and hostel. Faculty members are responsible for anti- ragging duty in college and in hostel. The anti- ragging duty is vested on assistant warden, housekeepers, hostel secretary, mess secretary and class representatives.

  • Discipline Committee

    The Discipline Committee is in charge of ensuring a campus congenial to study. It consists of faculty members and student representatives including NSS and Union.

  • Research Committee

    The Research Committee scrutinize the research proposals submitted by postgraduates and PhD scholars for research studies.

  • Faculty Development and Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Cell

    The faculty of this college is provided with opportunities for attending various workshops, seminars, conferences and also for research paper presentations, organized in this college and various institutions/agencies in and outside the state. Faculty development programmes are conducted every month. The programme aims at updating the knowledge of teachers with recent advances in Nursing, Medical and allied fields.

  • Office Staff Welfare Committee

    The Government procedures and proceedings, establishment, academic work, accounts and audit of this college are being conducted in an exemplary manner by a well-functioning office. Regular meetings are held on a monthly basis for the smooth running of academic and administrative functioning under the chairmanship of principal.

  • Institutional Human Ethics Committee

    This is an Independent body constituted with Nursing, Medical, scientific and non-scientific members. This committee reviews the research proposals and protects the safety and wellbeing of human subjects involved in the study.

  • Antinarcotic cell

    Antinarcotic cell conducts awareness programmes periodically regarding ill effects of drug use and its preventive strategies.

Kerala Government Collegiate Nursing Teacher’s Association (KGCNTA)

This association directs its activities to keep up the standard of nursing profession and boost up the morale of its members to be at par with other professions.
