Post Basic BSc Nursing programme (PBBSc)

  • The post basic B.Sc Nursing programme in Govt. College of Nursing, Thiruvananthapuram, was started in the year 1963 as the School of Nursing was upgraded to College of Nursing, which was the first of its kind in South East Asia. But the programme has stopped temporarily and restarted in the year 2010 under Kerala University of Health Sciences with an annual intake of 30 students. The duration of course is 2 years. Students are eligible for monthly stipend in the second year of the course.
  • Candidate should have passed plus two / equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. They should have also passed the qualifying examination that is General Nursing and Midwifery Course, from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and concerned State Councils with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Admission to the course is based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the Director, LBS Centre for Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram.
