Department of Community Health Nursing Community Health Nursing is the synthesis of nursing and public health practice applied to promote and protect the health of population. It combines all the basic elements of professional, clinical nursing with public health and community practice. The department of Community Health Nursing at Government College of Nursing, Thiruvananthapuram provides activities related to public health based on State & National health policy. This course is designed for students to appreciate the principles of promotion and maintenance of health in developing expertise and in depth understanding in the field of community health and to practice community health nursing for the individual, family and groups at both urban and rural settings by using concepts and principles of health and community health nursing.
