Scholarships and Awards
Our students are eligible for all scholarships granted by government of India & Kerala. They are also eligible for scholarships given by other organizations.
- Merit cum means scholarship is awarded to the students belonging to minority communities. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the poor and meritorious students belonging to minority communities to enable them to pursue professional and technical courses.
- Post metric scholarship The objective of the scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of minority community so as to provide better opportunities for higher education which will increase their rate of attainment in higher education and enhance their employability. Scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2 lakhs.
- Central sector scholarship Professional Courses: Rs.1000/- per month for the first three years (Subject to a Maximum of Rs. 10,000/- for an academic year) and Rs. 2000/- per month for the 4th and 5th year of study (if applicable) (Subject to a maximum of Rs. 20,000/- for academic year). Applicant should be pursuing any Regular Course at Under-Graduate Degree level in any recognized educational institution, including Professional Courses such as Medical, Nursing, Engineering etc. Parental income (Both Father and Mother) should not exceed Rs 6 lakhs per annum for the financial year. - Kerala Government has launched a noble initiative “SNEHAPOORVAM” to provide financial support to orphans who are living in the family, with their relatives, friends, or with the support of the community under the Social welfare Department implemented through Social Security Mission. - HLL Life care Limited’s Pratheeksha Charitable Society provides scholarships from academically outstanding students seeking admissions in professional and technical courses and for students belonging to the BPL category. The scheme is mainly open to students from Thiruvananthapuram district, studying at any educational institution within Kerala State. It offers financial assistance to those pursuing engineering, medicine, BPharm, diploma, nursing and ITI courses. An annual grant of Rs 10,000 will be given to nursing students. - Awards are sponsored by various organizations like SNA, KBNSA, TNAI, Alumni association, KGCNTA for rank holders and for best outgoing students.
- Gold medal for the first rank holders of M.Sc. Nursing, Post basic B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing and GNM students by PTA
- Sreenidhi award is a cash award sponsored by 10th batch BSc. Nursing students of Government College of Nursing, Thiruvananthapuram, in memory of their class mate and former faculty of this college Mrs. Sree Nidhi.M. The award is given to the first year GNM student who scores highest mark for Psychology theory exam in council examination.
- C H Muhammed Koya Scholarship: The Government of Kerala offers scholarships to girl students belonging to the Muslim Community or Latin Catholic Community or Converted Christians (Scheduled Caste Velar Community), studying in Government/Government Aided Institutions for Under Graduate Programmes, in the first year of the course. The scheme has Scholarships and Hostel Stipends. Applicant should have secured at least 50% marks in the qualifying Examination. The annual income of the family should be below Rs.2,50,000/-The details are available in www.momascholarship.gov.in
- Director of Collegiate Education (DCE) Scholarship is also available. The details can be downloaded from the website www.dcescholarship.gov.in
Students can avail only one scholarship at a time (except for snehapooravam).
